No Classes on Monday in Metro Manila due to SONA

No Classes on Monday! This is an announcement made by Department of Education Secretary Jesli Lapus in all levels in Metro Manila on Monday, July 27, 2009 in anticipation of State of the Nation Address (SONA) led by the President Gloria Arroyo and the Iglesia ni Cristo Day.

Meanwhile, the Commission on Higher Education (Ched) also decided to cancel the classes on Monday due to heavy trafic that might caused by the 95th Celebration of Iglesia Ni Cristo.

The Philippine President is scheduled to deliver her 9th and last State of the Nation Address at 4:00p.m. so we are expecting that a lot of activists group will organize many anti-SONA protest on Monday.

Earlier, many schools and universities already had their announcement of suspension particularly Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) and San Sebastian College- Recoletos Manila.
